ADR-008: Confirmed means fully reserved

Status: accepted 13 September 2026 (owner decision, BRV-02).

Flower shops sometimes take orders before the stems arrive. The Stage 2 plan asked whether confirmed may cover that case. Overloading one word with “fully reserved” and “hoped-for supply” would make every downstream rule ambiguous.

confirmed means the complete composition is reserved, atomically, from batches that are received, not expired, not quarantined, and usable through the order’s fulfilment cutoff. If any flower is short, confirmation is rejected with a shortage listing and the order stays pending. No partial reservation survives. Nothing is promised against supply that has not been received.

If the business later needs commitments ahead of procurement, it gets a distinct, recorded state with its own shortage report. It will not reuse confirmed.

  • Staff confirm an order once the delivery containing its stems is booked in.
  • Availability shown before confirmation is advisory.
  • Reservations are never silently reshuffled after they are made; freed stems become available for the next allocation.
